EVANS EXPECTED TO PARTNER MAGUIRE AT LEICESTER

There are lot of claims making the round in England that Coach Claude Puel should play Harry Maguire and Jonny Evans as a central pair. Leicester played well against Manchester United in the opening game. However they lost 2-1.

With the team looking to do better this season, a strong defensive pair is crucial. Maguire and Evans can partner to deliver this. Maguire partnered Wes Morgan at Old Trafford in the first game. But the 34-year old Morgan that played was far from the club legend that helped the club win the Premier League in 2016.

Evans can take over from Morgan, as the 30-year old is experienced enough. A partnership with Maguire would have youth, experience and modernity required to hold the back.

Evans joined from the relegated West Bromwich Albion side. He is expected to make a real impact at the Kings Power Stadium, alongside the new signings at the club this season. He had the basics at Old Trafford amid various loan spells to Royal Antwerp, Belgium and Sunderland before he finally moved to West Brom in 2015. The Northern Ireland star can help Leicester move up the ranks to just behind the Top Six, as they hope.

Partnering with Maguire is one way to achieve that route, with Morgan as the assistant. There are many more games to play but Puel needs to use this combo from now.
