BARCA DEFENDER TARGETED BY TWO PREMIER LEAGUE CLUBS

While Spanish La Liga giants Barcelona have already made commendable progress in this summer’s transfer window with their business activities, it seems like they are not done yet and are still very much interested in overseeing a couple of more business deals before the closure of the transfer window. There have been a few arrivals at the Spanish capital, including the arrival of striker Sergio Agüero and winger Memphis Depay. While Agüero had long been signed and his transfer completed, Depay only touched town in Spain yesterday to complete all his medicals after which he signed his professional contract with the club.

Ronald Koeman is keen to bring Barca back to challenging for major titles from next season and his first step towards achieving that goal is signing the players that he feels are needed in the squad. The next step, however, is to start letting go of players that he feels are no longer needed at Camp Nou and one of those players on the list is French defender Clement Lenglet.

The central defender has long been seen as surplus to requirements at the Catalan giants and his time at the club has long come under several questioning. He has been attracting a lot of interest from a couple of clubs especially in England and could be allowed to leave as early as this summer. However, Barca are monitoring the advances being made by his suitors and will only agree to sell him once they receive any offer they deem acceptable.

West Ham United and Everton are two of the leading clubs in England vying for his signature and he could end up joining either the Hammers or the Toffees in the next couple of days before the end of the summer transfer window.
