LEICESTER CITY MUST WAIT ONE MORE DAY FOR FIRST ENGLISH PREMIER LEAGUE TROPHY

English Premier League surprise squad, Leicester City must wait at least one more day for its first English Premier League title.

This is as a result of the draw against Manchester United at Old Trafford. Had the team won the game, the premier league title would have been sealed off. Manchester United led first but the resilient Foxes fought hard to pick a very crucial point.


The team would be crowned champions if second-placed Tottenham Hotspur, which trails Leicester by eight points, fail to beat Chelsea at Stamford Bridge. Spurs would have a tough job as the Bridge is a place where they have not won since 1990.

After the game, Leicester City player Wes Morgan said:

“It was very tough. Manchester United dominated possession and we had to dig in and be resilient.

“It’s a point and it’s a step in the right direction.

“It proved to be an important goal and to score at Old Trafford was a great feeling. It’s not ours until we get two hands on the trophy.”

Leicester finished the game with 10 men after Drinkwater was sent off for a second bookable offence five minutes from time meaning he would miss Leicester’s next game at home to Everton, when victory will secure the title even if Tottenham beats Chelsea. …

Former West Ham United striker Dean Ashton believes that the Premier League outfit should try and sign Paris St Germain superstar Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

His contract runs out at the end of the campaign and that there has been no talk about a new deal. At 34 years of age, he still has only a couple of years left at the top of the game. Louis Van Gaal believes that the main reason behind Manchester United performing much better this season is that there is more balance in the squad now.

The Red Devils have won 5 out of their 7 games in the Premier League 2015-16.

They topped the table last weekend when they defeated the Black Cats at home.

Speaking post that win, Van Gaal said, “This is a good bunch of players. But, wins are never guaranteed. We might lose somewhere down the line. Luck plays its part as well. But, one thing is for sure is that we have got more balance in the squad this time around and thus, we should be having more positive results.”

“Improvement is something that we should always look for. We have to keep getting better and better with each passing week.”

“As far as I am concerned, rotating the players is much easier for me. If you had observed the previous season, I didn’t opt for much rotation as the balance was not there. So, I would say I am more comfortable now. But, you can only do so much as manager. It’s the players who hold the key. If the structure that is there in place is acceptable to everyone or not, that is very important. At the moment, I am doing my job and the players are doing their job fantastically well too.” …

Chelsea reinforced their position at the top of the Premier League after defeating Manchester United with a narrow 1-0 victory. Even though it was Manchester United the team that lost, they had the upper hand in possession as the team of Louis van Gaal had 70% of possession and more shots being fired from the players hailing from Old Trafford.

 

Even with the dominance that Manchester United had implanted into the game, they still lost the match as Chelsea continues their run for their 5th Premier League title.

 

There are a total of 6 Premier League matches left in the season that Chelsea has to play before the campaign reaches its end and with an advantage of 10 points, Jose Mourinho and his men are in a very comfortable position as they only have to win 3 more matches and it will be enough for them to be crowned as the champions of England. …

Scott Sinclair has already featured in more league matches in his past two weeks at Aston Villa than he did with Manchester City throughout the first half of the campaign.

He has started on league match and come on as a substitute in two others since joining the Midlands club on a loan deal till the end of the season. This is his second loan spell to the Midlands after having spent time at West Brom only recently.Sinclair will be hoping to make this loan spell count, as the 25-year-old approaches the best spell in his career.

Villa recently appointed Tim Sherwood as their new manager after Paul Lambert was sacked as the manager after poor run of results that left the club in the relegation zone. Sherwood is expected to be at Villa for the next three and half years. The former Tottenham manager is known for giving a number of lesser-known players an opportunity in the first-team.Sinclair is hoping that this will help him get more first-team opportunities than before.
